This is Part One of a three-part series on Image Machine and how it works.

  • Part I: Image Management Tool
  • Part II: Working With Image Types and Additional Images On Attributes
  • Part II: Converting From Legacy Images To The New Image Machine

Miva Merchant’s new additional images functionality, aptly named “Image Machine” allows you to easily add multiple images to your product pages. This new feature was released in Miva Merchant Production Release 8 (PR8). If you are upgrading from an older version of Miva Merchant, there are template changes you must make in order to get these new features to work correctly.

If you already have Image Machine up and running on your Miva Merchant store, you know how powerful this feature is and how easy it is to add additional images to your products. What you may not be aware of is that Miva Merchant’s Image Management tool which was released in PR8 Update 3, allows you to take full advantage of all of the features of Image Machine.

In the following video walkthrough I’m going to show you how the Image Management tool works and what it is used for. Hopefully I can give you a better overall understanding of Image Machine itself and show you the tools you need to get the most out of Miva Merchant’s new features.
