23 November 2000 Leading US and UK search engines form strategic partnership Espotting.com, the European answer to search, has announced a strategic partnership with Kanoodle.com, one of the fastest growing Internet search facilities in the United States. The combined strength of the partnership will be the power behind over 5 million unique Internet search requests every day. Both Espotting and Kanoodle are pay-for-placement search engines that allow e-businesses to determine their placement in the search result listings by bidding on relevant keywords. This means consumers receive the most relevant search results and advertisers have risk-free, cost-per-click advertising. Under the terms of the deal, registered Espotting advertisers will have the opportunity to seamlessly advertise in North America with Kanoodle. Kanoodle advertisers will have the same opportunity in the UK and Europe via Espotting. Kent Keating, CEO, Kanoodle said, "Having achieved a leading position in the United States and Canadian markets we considered Kanoodle's entry into Europe as critical to the development of the company. Espotting's advanced technology and skilled management team made them the natural organisation to first approach and partner with." "Pay-for-placement offers advertisers true accountability and cost effectiveness and is the future for search engines. The days of those engines without pay-for-placement are numbered," concluded Kent. Daniel Ishag, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Espotting, commenting on the deal said "This deal marks a huge step forward in the international development of Espotting. We have been a catalyst for change in the way businesses use the web to promote themselves and as Kanoodle is one of the major players in the US pay-for-placement market our combined strength can only accelerate the process." "We currently have advertisers such as Amazon.co.uk, FT.com, peoplesound.com, Lloyds TSB and Dixons. This partnership gives Espotting access to the most vibrant and active web marketplace in the world, will give our users an accurate global search facility, bring our advertisers great benefits and increase our own traffic from the US." continued Daniel. |
