Is it possible to add a field, a checkbox, to this form and process it on [save] event?

Not currently. There are basically few API based functions (such as Product_create, Product_udpate) available in the admin. What are actually trying to accomplish. There might be another way.

I am in the process of developing address validation module.
This module validates the address while customer adds/modifies the address and update a flag in customeraddresses table.
This flag also needs to be adjusted manually by website operator through admin interface.
I wish I can add an extra checkbox to the form like residential flag.
