    Levels Newsletter Sign Up

Great job on this Readytheme! With that said, the contact form is a really great addition for the customer that does not want to pay monthly fees to collect basic info from their customers. Why did the newsletter sign up form get left out of this program. Obviously all of the necessary support functions are built in so why not go the extra mile and finish the newsletter sign up using the same functionality as the contact form?

I would assume, that any 'contact form' that collected 'monthly' fees, would do more than just "collect basic" information about their customers...

We provided the layout for the newsletter signup, however each merchant typically already has a email provider they use such as mailchimp, constant contact, bronto, etc. Because there are so many different providors, we left it up to the merchant/developer to link up to the email service they want to link the newsletter signup form to

We thought about including a simple form processor such as what we included with the contact form, but getting newsletter signups via an email, typically create more work for the merchant and then they have to manually do something with them.

Ok, I did try and use the existing styled form with the contact form code with a few tweaks and can't get it to work. I'll find something simple in 3rd party land and share it here. Thanks.

What newsletter system are you using? Many offer the ability to sign up via email. If so, the built in contact form (if it offers alternate email addresses based on subject) will work, and if not, our Easy Contact module does. You might also be able to do this (email sign up) by using Out look rules to send an email based on Subject.

Bruce, I truly appreciate you plugging in on this topic but I'm not sure you are on my point. I just think it's one step short of a perfect readytheme without an easy way to do the same thing with the beautiful built in newsletter sign up as is the contact form, right?

In the medium run, we're building newsletter management functionality into the core, at that point we'll address it into the Ready Themes.
              Thanks,

I agree on the naming, but probably not happening until V 10 (next year).
