We have used Ultimate Order Status for years and the company (Sebenza) has gone the way of the dodo.
This is business-critical functionality for us; we depend on custom order statuses to communicate information with customers about order information that we need to complete orders. The Ultimate Order Status gives us the flexibility to do this reasonably well.
Miva's current built-in order statuses for "Processing", "Backordered", and "Shipped" are not enough for us to get rid of this module. The Miva 9 template email system allows for the custom emails we would need, but there's no way to flag an order with a unique order status and trigger custom emails as we do with Ultimate Order Status.
Seems like Miva 9 is already at least halfway there (there are already order statuses and template based emails that could be triggered to send based on those statuses...) This would be very useful and a great addition to the feature list. It would be a huge benefit to get rid of this now-defunct company's module that hasn't been supported for quite some time. Running software like that feels like a ticking time bomb that could break on any new Miva update, so we're really hoping to move away from it as soon as we can.
We would love to see a method for this in a future update in 2016.
Thanks!
