Volume Pricing detail on admin product pages

There is a global volume price and then there is the volume pricing fields that show up on each product's page in the admin. However, on the admin product page the pricing fields are not prefilled with the global which would allow admin users to change a single price point if they wished. Right now you have to recreate an entirely new volume pricing table for each product you wish to modify even if all you want is just one amount changed.

The fix would be to prefill the global volume price table in each product page so it could be tweaked as needed rather than the empty table.

Thats a good suggestion although I can see use cases were someone may not want that to be the desired behavior. You could do it now by importing the volume pricing at the product level for all products to be the same as the global then you can change it on a per product basis.

You can also import just the ones you want to change and let the global control the rest

I might be mistaken, but I seem to recall MIVA was planning at some point developing something similar to old man Weiland's Volume Pricing module which was also going to include the ability to schedule ad zones as well. Did I imagine that?

Neat! But where is the ad portion? I seem to remember something about automatically displaying a banner ad when volume pricing would go into effect and disappearing once promotion expired.

You have to use template code to do that on your own, but it can be done.

Is there a way to associate the ad with the Volume Pricing promotion so they are both displayed simultaneously and if so, how?

Here is the code you would need to link a price group's begin and end times to the display of a banner:
