    Inventory/attribute error message

We have been using Sebenza's product template manager with our attributes. I recently tried to add inventory variants to get Bill Weiland's product template feed to list each attribute in the Google feed. After I added inventory variants (auto generate then manually added inventory) I got the attached error when clicking to access product detail screen. You can click through to product description and everything looks ok but I have to solve the error message.

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

Chet, the problem is that the Sebenza template is not using the attribute coding from the default Miva Merchant attribute layout, but instead is using the attribute coding from the Sebenza template - the tokens for the Sebenza template are slightly different. From what I understand, you can try converting he Sebenza "attributes" to the default attributes and see if that works.

Leslie's comments seem correct. Inventory variants and Sebenza product template are not compatable at this time as far as we can tell. I will need to remove the inventory variant.

          Re: Inventory/attribute error message

Even though you are using the Sebenza templates make sure you updated all of the stuff for the PROD page including assigning the attribute machine and updating the attribute templates. If I remember correctly the sebenza template still calls on the attribute template from the PROD page. This error also happens if you did not put <mvt:item name="attributemachine" param="head" /> into the head of your sebenza template and you need to have the body item as part of the template.

I used to have this working with Sebenza template so I do believe it's possible... it's just been awhile. I switched to not needing the templates anymore since it's all built into Miva now.

Mark - have you used the templates with the Inventory Attributes and the Sebenza QuickAdd layout? The template does have the head tag, what was the body item again? As does it work even if you are using the Sebenza attribute coding - iterator="attr" verses iterator="attribute"?

I would love to be able to have a QuickAdd layout like the Sebenza Templates offer - just haven't quite figured out the coding for it.

                Leslie,

The Emporium Plus Tool Kit does bulk addition with inventory attribute (both regular and template attributes). See examples at http://www.emporiumplus.com/SAMPLE4.html and http://www.emporiumplus.com/SAMPLE5.html You can also tie in the Tool Kit's wait list system to allow wait listing of individual attribute/options.

Do you have examples of the coding used in the Toolkit docs?

See http://www.emporiumplus.com/1AA00223.html #143 which is the function variantarray You will use Miva's ability to have multiple product page templates. You'll create a new PROD page for these bulk add options. You'll also have a new template to use with it for the attribute template tab. It is pretty much copy and paste.

We like the layout and functions of the Sebenze attribute template where people can see all the attributes and order quantities of each attribute all at once and then add all of them to cart. This suits our products extremely well.

Has anyone come up with a similar system? Has anyone continued to use the Sebenza attribute template? Has anyone got the Sebenza attribute template to work with inventory variants?

I would appreciate any help along these lines.

OK we need help. I have attached a photo of the display and functionality that we like and feel sells our products well. We seem to have 2 choices - get rid of the error message caused by the Sebenza attribute template (just code it out as far as I'm concerned - everything seems to work when you hit OK and proceed) of someone code a different way that gives us most of the functionality.

Here are some items to see the issue and the display: http://www.artisticartifacts.com/product/12200.html , http://www.artisticartifacts.com/product/15408.html , copy and paste URLS in browser, hit ok when error message comes up. Comments appreciated.

Chet, since this is a MM9 store, we are probably going to need to move it over to MM9. But basically what you want is for someone to be able to stop the popup message from appearing because the Inventory Attributes are active in addition to the Sebenza Product Template Manage which is used to create the product layout. Or to find a way to convert the Sebenza Product Template Manager template that uses a touch of the EmporiumPlus Toolkit in it to help create the layout.
