Get % back to spend on product group in same order

Well the boss asked so I'll ask here...

Convoluted question. He was wondering if there is a way - using price groups/coupons or 3rd party module- so that a customer gets 1% back to spend on tools category (during the same order).

So he has $500 worth of products in basket, he has $5 available to spend on qualifying products if he adds them to the basket.

Hopefully this is decipherable.

Looks like we are looking for a rewards system. I spoke to Bruce at Phosphor Media based on a related question about replacing Sebenza Points. He's got something in the works that sounds workable so waiting to see it when he does the roll-out.
