Google Analytics is occassionally recording PayPal as the visitors origin

After implementing universal tracking, we found that every time a customer paid for an order with PayPal, the referrer credit was being given to PayPal.com. We opened a ticket with Miva and it was suggested that we add paypal.com to the GA's referrer exclusion list. We did this last week, but noticed that a couple of transactions are still being credited to paypal.com. Since this should now be completely excluded, I'm surprised to still see such transactions. Does anyone have any insight into this? It's definitely not as big of a problem as it was before this last change, but I do want to make sure we're properly correlating traffic with its initial source.

    Thanks,
    Paul

From what I've read adding the referral exclusion should fix it (and you need to be using Universal Analytics), however it only fixes it from new customers not retroactively. Here is a tutorial on it (it is referencing shopify but the concepts should be the same)

Thanks. I will try extending the session timeout to see if this helps resolve the issue.
