    Error when attempting to send customer/merchant emails within the admin

    When we add an order via the admin and attempt to send ourselves the merchant (or customer) emails we get the following error


    Item 'payment' threw exception 'invalid_payment_method' during initialization

    The methods are

    COD
    American Express
    MasterCard
    Visa
    Discover

    Hello Habreu,

    Try checking your Order Fulfillment Settings and check your Merchant/Customer notification email templates and make sure that the item "payment" is not assigned. By default you shouldn't have an item called "payment" assigned to either notification email. These are the items assigned by default.

      That was it. It looks like at some point someone assigned every possible item to the page. It didn't trip from the front end but the admin entry exposed it.Thanks.

        Be careful with Item assignment on pages. Each one can potentially add processing time to the page loading. You really should only have items assigned that are needed.

          Thanks. I'm sure a lot of problems like this have creeped onto the site over the years. Our new site should be ready in a couple months and we should shed some of the barnacles..
