    Tax Exempt for B2B

Do I still need to buy a module or is there a way to tax exempt a business customer in 9?

The module is currently the best option, although we do plan to build in a suite of B2B features but it won't be in the next release.

You could probably cobble together a working solution using Custom Customer fields and Custom Order fields and a bunch of SMT functions....and several hours of your time...but the module would be cheaper.

We have the B2B module installed and working in our store so that selected customers can order without being charged sales tax.

When creating an order from the Admin screen, a customer who is tax exempt is being charged taxes. There is a "Tax Exemption" link at the top left of the order creation screen, but there's no information showing in the modal generated by that link. (Screen shot attached for reference.)

We've searched for a way to add an exemption and have, so far, not been successful.

Any assistance or clarification you can offer would be appreciated.

I don't believe the module will work in the admin, however you can manually remove tax for the customers that are part of that group. It will require one extra step though to lookup the customer and ensure they are part of that group.

Bumping this up to see if there are any updates. Our wholesale (B2B) customers are still being charged sales tax for orders shipped within Georgia (our home state).

We have the Tax Exempt module working on our website.. it took a little bit of tweaking, but it seems to work consistently now.

We "pre-screen" customers who apply as tax exempt, and then once verified we assign all those customers to an Availability Group called "Tax Exempt". In the B2B module settings we indicate that any customers assigned to that Availability Group are tax exempt. We also choose to hide the input field for that group.

Are you using Availability Groups feature, or are you basing exemption on the customer's Login ID?

We're using it based on the Login ID.

It might be worth giving it a try with Availability Groups if your workflow allows.
