    Multiple problems when trying to go all https

    So I was thinking all this had been resolved already, but I still cannot get a site to correctly use all https. I have followed everything except adding the force https into the htaccess file as outlined here: https://www.netblazon.com/blog/migra...miva-site-ssl/

    The links are not switching to https and now they have a Session ID tacked onto the tail end. I'm getting the mixed content message when trying to add something to the cart - this was mentioned back here http://www.miva.com/forums/forum/des...:product:link;

    If there has been some sort of update that needs to be applied to the templates to fix this, it would be nice if it had been mentioned on either first post started by Bruce or by the one started by me:
    http://www.miva.com/forums/forum/onl...-use-all-https

    This is extremely frustrating and well I'll leave it at that....

    Just my 2 cents. We tried it at a couple websites but the bugs popping up forced us to roll back in every single case. Usually we ended up with mixed content errors and non functioning links and JavaScripts. I would say doing this on a new site would be a better way than trying to convert a existing site.

      The problem with doing this on a new site is that are a LOT of existing sites that want to go all https.

          I was able to get the site to go all secure and paid special attention to:

          1. base href (and other site configurations tab)
          2. l.settings:urls array local variables, ie &mvt:urls:PAGE:secure;
          3. Checkbox on Page template to link to page using https
          4. The site works without the htaccess https redirect, but I keep it for external links

          Setting a new session id if you are going from secure to non-secure urls would be normal behavior depending on your domain settings > site configuration > when transitioning

            Yeah, but Dan you are not a normal Miva store owner and have the patience doing it. Most of our clients freak out and ask us to roll back instead of going on.
