    Stripe checkout for Miva

I recently found out about a checkout system called Stripe that can be embedded in our website, which would remove a lot of our PCI burden. Has anyone been able to use this with Miva? It looks like something that would require a module. I contacted Stripe and they of course told me to contact Miva, which means they haven't developed a module of their own.
Looking for work as of March 2024! I've been a web developer for going on 20 years, with most of that time spent on Miva sites.

Correct it would require a module and one doesn't exist today. However using PayPal Payments Advanced, or PayFlow Hosted give you the same PCI Benefit as will Braintree which we're including in 9.6 coming next month.

Also our new MivaPay product coming out next month will work with our stock gateways and also provide the same PCI-SAQ-A experience.

          Rick.

I looked up Braintree and they have a start-up offer with no fees for the first $50k of charges, but not if the merchant comes to them via a "partner.". Can you find out if we will still be eligible if we use the Miva module? A flat rate would be great as our current processor's charges total up past 7 percent with all the added surcharges. It's absurd.

          This is from https://www.braintreepayments.com/braintree-pricing

Can you tell me more about the 'Make $50K. Keep $50K' pricing deal?

Sure. When you integrate directly with Braintree, we'll cover the fees on your first $50K of sales. That means no transaction fees, no interchange costs, and no catch. After your business crosses the $50K threshold, our standard 2.9% + $.30 per transaction rate applies. But for your first $50K, you won't be charged a cent (though chargebacks will still incur a $15 fee). This offer is not available for merchants taking advantage of our discounted rate for eligible nonprofits, or merchants who integrated via a Braintree partner.

I don't believe that offer is going to be available as they've told me they're in the process of doing away with it. But your rate will be better than that, so it should be a wash in the end. Email me if you want to start the process with them in preparation for 9.6.

Sounds like a plan, I just need to get updated to 9.4 and 9.5 first (I tell you, the $100 monthly hit is becoming a great incentive). Have you guys come up with a way to streamline the update process for those of us who just don't touch the templates very often? I can never remember what I changed some months (or years) earlier and the line by line changes are laborious to get through. If I have your team move my data to the development store (it already has a Ready Theme) can I drop a 9.5 version Ready Theme on it? Sorry to hijack the thread.

No, that's a big challenge. We're going to spend a lot of time thinking about it for V10, but we haven't seen an elegant solution in the market yet (but we have a few nascent ideas).
                Thanks,

I did find that my dev store is already on 9.00053 and moved it to the Levels Ready Theme from Iron and Wool. The menu structure looks perfect for our store.

Are you saying that we can't backload live store content (order history, products, categories, and such) into the dev store?

Let me try again. Put aside my earlier questions about outsourcing updates.

My Live Store is at: 9.0003
My Dev Store is at: 9.00053 with Ready Theme installed

Question: Since I don't really need any of the older template changes can we have our Live Content ported to the dev store, fix it up, and then copy back the whole shebang over the Live Store?

You can import, the products, categories and customers, but the order history is a no go. It can't be brought in to the dev store.

The live store will need to be brought up to date or you will be "fined" for non-compliance.

So my question to is this - is the live store also CSSUI? If so, then why not create a Framework from the dev store and then apply it to the live store?

ps...these questions probably should have there own thread since they have drifted away from the original topic.

Hi everyone, is there any plans to integrate with Stripe in the near future?

We would like to take advantage of Stripe with Mivapay, is there any reason why it's not supported?
They are one of the biggest processors and they are quite developer friendly. We are a Canadian company and Braintree does not work for us and they charge an extra 1% fee just for USD processing, AFAIK none of the other processors allow Canadian corps to register for US side processing. Sadly Stripe is the only gateway we found that has the same pricing regardless of currency, and allows us to settle natively in multi-currencies as a Canadian corp.

                            Thanks!
