Right now I use a CMS on a separate (allfrom1supply.net instead of our store's allfrom1supply.com) domain to store documentation, we link to on our product screens. I saw the digital downloads option and am wondering if that might be used as a sort of file manager so our staff can add PDF's and get the link somehow to use those on the product pages? The simple reason being that I'm the guy in the middle who gets all the requests for adding documents or tweaking existing ones on the CMS. If there was a way within Miva for the other staff members to upload those documents and generate a link they could paste into the relevant custom fields, then I could remove myself from the middle and smooth the workflow.

You can do this with Custom Product Fields. Miva as a built field type for file upload (called image upload) however it allows you or your staff to upload pdf documents via the admin and you can then output the path to the file in the page.

The only thing you need to do after you create the custom fields you need, is to go into Domain Settings and under Upload Settings add the pdf extension to the list.
