I know this is an older thread, but I am at a point where I need to decide my direction regarding the payment process. May I ask who you use for your gateway?

We use Authorize.net. The features I mentioned are part of their Customer Information Manager (CIM). There's not an off-the-shelf implementation of this for Miva, so it will require custom development work.
