Settings to send emails through office 365

    Hello,

I host my own Miva store on my own plesk server. This past weekend I moved mail service for the domain that hosts our store to Office 365. Since, emails are no longer going out through our store (order confirmations, paid receipts, etc.).

I have changed the Domain Settings in an attempt to relay through office 365 following options 1 and 3 in this article: https://support.office.com/en-us/art...rs=en-US&ad=US

    No luck in either case.

I am hoping someone else has gone through this same transition and might be able to help me figure out what I am doing wrong.

    Thanks in advance!
    Robin

This usually results when the mail services for the domain on the server where the store runs have not been turned off. If the store is delivering to localhost, then the local server is going to identify the destination as one it delivers to locally and never let the message leave the server. Altering the settings on the server to have mail disabled for the domain (done in Plesk under the Websites & Domains area, then Mail tab) should resolve it, and let you continue using localhost as the server the store uses.

Thanks for your thoughts! I have unchecked: Activate mail service on this domain. But then, what do I put for the mail user and mail password? Or, do I leave those blank. At the server level I have Ralaying > authorization is required > SMTP (is the option checked.

You should be able to use 'localhost' as the server and leave the authentication pieces blank as most Plesk servers allow relaying from local apps but not remote. Some browsers may auto populate those fields so be careful of that.

Thank you thank you! I guess I was thinking too hard about doing this. But, your help has helped me understand better how it works!

          Grateful,
