PROD pages links not being generated secure

I've just come across a strange situation that I can't figure out.

I have a prod site and a dev site. I have set up both to serve all pages securely. Everything works just as it should on the prod site. But on the dev site, my CTGY pages are not generating secure links to my PROD pages. So when I click on a link to a product from a category page, it takes me to a non-secure page. Things that I've checked to ensure they are set up correctly on my dev. site (and that they match settings on my prod site which works fine):
    1. Cookie settings are correct: set only on HTTPS connection with secure flag
    2. Domain settings are all correct with https: defined for all URLs there and to never include session parameters
    3. PROD page is set up with the box checked to Link to This Page Using HTTPS
    4. Page code on PROD and CTGY pages on the dev site matches code on pages in prod site
    5. URI management settings have a secure URL prefix defined

Does anyone know if there is another setting somewhere that I am missing?

What is the token for the product link on the category page?

On the prod site: &mvte:product:link; . And on the dev site: &mvte:product:link; . The same in both places.

I kind of figured that was the link and would be the case, but had to ask.

Do you have a separate certificate for the dev site or a wildcard certificate?

It's a separate cert. But I don't think it's cert related. Somehow Miva is generating those links as http:// links instead of https:// links when it generates the page.

I was going to ask if you are using URI Management or Legacy SEO links - but that shouldn't matter since it would be the same in your live site.

              Are the engines the same?

There is a difference there. My prod site is at 5.27 while dev is behind at 5.24. I have a ticket in to update that. You think that could be it?

                  It's a WAG worth trying.

Are you using legacy seo settings or URI management. If URI management, check that the secure and non secure links are correct under URI Management. Those are the values Miva uses to generate those links.

I'm using legacy SEO settings, not URI.

My dev site is now on engine v. 5.27, and that didn't address the issue. Nice try, Leslie, but no luck this time.... I'm sure it's just a setting somewhere deep in the admin that is configured correctly on my prod site but that I've overlooked on my dev site. But for the life of me I can't figure out what it would be....

I threw this issue over to my developer, and he was able to resolve it. It turns out that he found the same issue when setting up my prod store to serve all pages secure and had come up with a workaround.

It appears that there's a limitation in URI management for legacy SEO settings. It only allows you to have a URL prefix as a non-secure http: page--even in the secure URL prefix field. This is what causes the links to be generated to non-secure pages. To get around the issue, he wrote the https: value directly into the database. Now the secure https: URL appears in the UI in my URI management admin screen, even though that admin screen won't allow me to save a secure https: value in that field. And my PROD page links are being generated as https: links.

Yeah, I've been bitching about that for a long time now. I almost feel like it's a bug

Hi Leslie, I have added a bug for this issue.
