Coupon only Product Discount Price Group

I have one set up. The Discounted Product is the only one in this price group. In the basket, the correct discount applies to the line item as expected but the discount is not added (a subtraction) to the cart total.

Example: a 6% discount is applied to a $250 item ($15.00). The Basket line item has the price at $235.00, but the Basket Total remains $250.00 through a completed checkout.

Any hint as why the total isn't correct?

what variable are you using for the basket total? It should have the correct amount.

Was/Am using out of box code on BASK. That wasn't the issue. When troubleshooting this, I disabled all the BASK related modules (mostly 3rd party) including the EmpPlus Volume Pricing. I am not sure which module caused the conflict but the problem was solved and I moved on. Subsequently, however, I had to completely overhaul the volume discount strategy in the store from the module solution to the built in solution. The background on this, you can't mix the EmpPlus Coupon and VolPrice modules with the built-in Miva capability with Price Groups. The conclusion is that you need to use one or the other -- not both.
