    QuickBooks 2016 / Synchro / Custom Fields

    Is anyone else using QB 2016 and Synchro? I am having trouble getting the custom fields for products to work. I get an error in QB any time I try to sync because of the fields. From what I can tell, it seems like QB won't allow Miva to update the field. I am not sure if this is something that I need to allow in QB or if it doesn't want to work at all.

    There was an error when modifying a data extension name "Secondary Supplier".

    I just installed QB 2016 Pro and was able to reproduce the same error, even after properly mapping the inventory item for the custom fields in synchros field mappings. I'll reply if I can figure it out or if this was filed as a bug. At a quick glance I didn't find any permissions settings for this in QB, it doesn't say it's a read only field so I'm not sure why it's choking.

      I have noticed that it won't sync customer notes either. I am trying to put the customer phone number in the notes field but it isn't showing up. It isn't giving an error so I am not sure what that issue might be.

        Customer notes were just introduced in 9.0004 and unfortunately customer notes aren't available in synchro's field mappings. You can't map customer notes and I'm not sure if that is even slated to be introduced in a newer version of synchro. Sounds more like a feature request.

          I am trying to map the customers phone number from Miva to the customer notes field in QB.

            I just tested this successfully. I changed my shipping phone # in the customer field mappings from Miva to be mapped to the "Notes" field in QB. It works, you have to change the field mappings for customers in synchro.

              you are right, that is where mine is going but not exactly where I need it. I was thinking it was supposed to show up in the address notes, not in the customer notes.

                I'm not sure what "address notes" you're referring to. I see the notes in the upper right corner and in the "Notes" tab while viewing the customer in QB, see image: http://puu.sh/mbHqn/0d14cabc11.png

                Is there something I'm missing on my customer center in QB?

                  I am seeing them in the same place as you. If you double click a customer and go into the detail page there is an address details. If you click on the pencil you will see a popup that has a notes section. I am trying to put the phone number in that address notes section. It isn't an option in Synchro in terms of mapping to that field.

                    Got it, I see that now in my QB co. file. I don't see any way to map to those fields either. I'd submit that towards to the dream features to see if it can be added in a future release of synchro.

                      I am running into another issue that I am not quite sure how to fix. I can't get it to sync all of my products from my store to Quickbooks, I keep getting an Unknown Miva Merchant error. It seems to sync about 500 products max at time even though it should be updating 7000.

                        How long (time wise) is the synch running for before you get the Unknown Miva Merchant error? You may be hitting a timeout setting for the synchro user. That's my guess, edit the synchro user in the miva admin and bump up the administrative session timeout on that account and see if that helps.

                          it isn't that long, maybe about a minute or less. it goes through the Quickbooks products without a problem, then when it hits the the downloading Miva list it pauses for about a minute maybe a bit longer. Then it comes back and say updating about 500 products (it should do all 7000 since I modified the names of each one in an upload) and then if fails after updating the first one. What should the user settings be for items per page, list load count, and list pagination?

                              Hello K Series Parts,

                              Since you're getting a "miva merchant error: unknown error", the miva merchant log will have some more useful information. If you look at your Miva Merchant log, scroll down to the bottom and work your way up and you should see something more useful related to the error. Don't post here though because the top of the log contains your stores username and password.

                              I would encourage you to delete all of your logs, recreate the error one time then look at the miva merchant log. This way you have a "fresh" log and you're not sifting through a bunch of "static".
