MIVA'S SPILL.COM MOVIE COMMUNITY BREAKS INTO HITWISE ENTERTAINMENT / MOVIE TOP 100 Unique visitors increase 211% over the last month Site expands to 325,000 pages of animated movie reviews, movie information and user generated content NEW YORK - January 16, 2008. Global digital media company, MIVA Inc., (NASDAQ:MIVA), today announced that movie community and animated movie review site, Spill.com, which it launched eight months ago, has grown to achieve a ranking of 87 in Hitwise's Entertainment / Movie category1. Over the past month, Spill generated over 1 million page views and over 270,000 unique visitors, increases of 150% and 211% respectively over the previous month's figures2. The increase in traffic coincides with the introduction of a range of new features to the Spill.com site. The site continues to center around proprietary animated movie reviews of the latest releases compiled by 'The Spill Crew' and also now includes a full suite of community and social networking features, including the ability for users to build profile pages, participate in movie-related forums, upload their own videos and images, and read movie blogs. MIVA has also added details of upcoming movie releases, biographies of actors and actresses and detailed information on thousands of movies. This new content brings the total number of pages on the Spill site to 325,0003. A key component in building brand awareness and driving the recent increase in traffic to the Spill site has been an expanded brand building and social media marketing campaign that includes distributing Spill's animated reviews across user- generated content sites such as YouTube and MySpace and increasing the cross-promotion of Spill across other MIVA-owned web properties. This campaign resulted in an additional 430,000 views of Spill's reviews outside of the Spill site in December 2007. "I believe the addition of this new content and functionality have enabled us to transition Spill into what we believe is a content-rich and highly sticky social networking platform. The results of our brand building campaigns coupled with the sustained growth in traffic volumes have been extremely encouraging and we intend to continue to focus on these areas to help build a platform for exploring monetization opportunities," commented Sloan Gaon, MIVA's Senior VP, Global Strategy. http://www.spill.com 1 Source: Hitwise, 01/03/2008 About Spill.com Spill is an online movie community and movie information resource.
