All online store owners want to increase traffic to their site and the less it costs the better. Many small business owners may not know where to start when it comes to getting their website to show up in Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask and others. There are many free resources out there to help some one learn if they are willing to spend the time. Here is an overview of two of my favorites for getting started.
If you are just starting out I would head over to SEOmoz and check out their Beginner’s Guide to SEO. They also have other helpful resources including a Web Developer’s SEO Cheat Sheet and an article on Search Ranking factors. SEOmoz also has some web based tools for SEO however most of them require a paid membership to use.
The next site is for Aaron Wall’s SEO book but the tools he provides for free are excellent. I highly recommend the SEO for Firefox plug-in and the Rank Checker plug-in. Both will save you countless hours when evaluating your website and your competitors. You can find all the tools and a few others at https://tools.seobook.com/.
I hope you enjoy both of these SEO resources and they help you on your quest for free traffic. Are there any tools you love to use for your website? If so please share by leaving a comment.
