Shipping Options at the Product Level

I'm wondering if anyone has a solution for offering different shipping options at the product level instead of the basket level?

Template code to modify an array element?

I feel like I should already know this ...
I need to modify the value of an array element in template code. Initially I wrote something in the form:

But that's not allowed; and according to the docs, you can't use the index or member attributes in mvt:assign like you can in regular Miva Script MvASSIGN.

The only solution I've thought of is to:

Copy the array element to a temporary variable,
delete the element from the array,
modify the temporary variable, and
Insert the temporary element back into the array.

But that seems kind of klugey. Is there a better way, and I've just forgotten?

Google Shopping Feed - Ignore Product

When building a Google Shopping Feed, there are Google Shopping Custom Fields (did these come from the Marketplaces Google Shopping?). One of them is Ignore Product. If this is used how will the product be ignored? Will it not be included in the feed (it looks like the answer is no). Will Google "obey" this? I see they have something called [excluded_destination] and the product can be excluded from "Free_listing". I am not finding any connection to the "Ignore Product". I need something other than making the product inactive to exclude it from the feed. Perhaps a conditional?

A while back I couldn't figure out why Scot's Scripts wasn't on Duck Duck Go, then I read that Duck Duck Go basically uses data from Bing. Then I noticed my site wasn't on Bing either (even though it was fully indexed by Google.) Eventually I learned about IndexNow.org which is something Bing uses to get links to crawl.

So I made a module that would submit the links from Scot's Scripts to IndexNow.org and low and behold, the next time I checked Bing and Duck Duck Go Scot's Scripts was fully indexed.

I figured I'd release it into the wild in case anyone else is having this issue. The module is plug and play: https://apps.miva.com/index-now.html

Product Description for Variant Not Displaying

Hello,

I'm having some trouble with missing product descriptions for variants. Each variant is set up as its own product, and they all have unique descriptions in the admin. Other variant-specific details, such as SKU, image, and product details are all displaying correctly on the front end when the attributes corresponding with that variant are selected. Only "Description" is missing.

When I check our Product Details content section, it includes the following, which creates a redundant section titled "Item Information." I noticed this because I wanted to remove the "Item Information" section (it merely duplicates the Description) but then noticed that for variant products, this was the only place that the descriptions are displaying.

&mvt:product:descrip;

It's strange that this *does* render the variant's unique product description, but only in the PDP "Product Details" tab devoted to product specs.

However, on the same variant product page, the "Description" tab, which is supposed to contain the product description and only the description, will not render because for some reason it thinks it's empty ... even though that data is pulling into the Product Details section directly below.

Does anyone know a workaround?

Displaying an Attribute Option Price

I need to show an Attribute Option Price outside of the PROD page? I'm trying to display the first attribute price because the product price is 0

My initial hack:

It displays the correct price, except it displays 3 of them (I assume because there are 3 attributes for the product).

displays nothing.

There are products displaying $0.00 - on the CTGY, the Related Products, on the SRCH, etc...

I'm thinking someone has already done this, but my searches are coming up short.

Points module features and Paypal

In todays online shopping environment, a solid loyalty rewards program is a must.
Our native MIva points module works but is so lacking on many levels.
For instance, there is no easy way, not without hiring a costly coder/designer, to provide up-to-date info on product pages. As in, buy this item at X price, you make x dollars in rewards.

Then there is the paypal checkout issue.
Paypal has been tightly integrated in Miva and it works so well for customers to quickly make a purchase in a few clicks. But this bypasses the checkout system and therefore also the point rewards.
So depending on how a customer checks out, they may or may not have points added.

Worldwide shipping with MyUS

Seems worthwhile to have a shipping option like this for international orders ..... well okay, perhaps at some point in the far future when the rest of the world likes or trust us again :-)

New USPS Requirements

I happened to be working in a store admin this morning that needed the U.S.P.S. Online Rate Calculation (Domestic & International) module updated. I saw this message pop up:

This led to questions. Was this the only place this announcement was made? I didn't recall getting an email (nor any from other storeowners). I haven't had any store owners contact me about the message, so I can only "assume" they all figured out how handle this (or had the time to do it). The store owner to whom I sent the how-to from the docs was wondering (along with me) if any email was sent out to storeowners about this new requirement? Another question I had, does this requirement fix the previous issues with the module, or has that been resolved with the additional updates?

Can the scheduled task's "queue" be added to the log popup? The queue is not avail in the advanced search or the batch list columns to add. Then we could filter and sort by the queue for easier debugging and monitoring.

Multi-Domain Option 2 Inventory Questions

It's looking like "Option 1" isn't going to be a good fit for a store I'm working with. The store owner wants to use different attribute templates for the same product. Now, more questions regarding inventory control have come back up (since "Option 1" relied on the same inventory). The store owner uses Quickbooks (connected with T-hub) and wants to have the same products in both stores and only have one inventory (which is why "Option 1" was initially considered and thought to be a good fit). This may be more of a T-hub/Quickbooks question, but I thought I would ask here first since the store would be configured as a Multi-domain Additional Store. Is there a way to do this (other than assigning half the inventory to one store and half to the other)?

Tax Cloud Improvements
