Payment Methods disapeared - emergency

Hi,
]I have an emergency on a site - after installing an unnamed secure payment
module - and testing, then deactivating it - ALL credit card payment methods
have disapeared.

No matter what is done - "No Methods Avaialable" shows in the select payment
dropdown.
If I add 'check', or 'cod', they will show - but no credit card methods at
all.

I did not install, so can't backtrack what was done, and the developer that
did install is not available.

Anyone ever seen anything like this before?

I would check and see what database files the unnamed module is using -
is it possible they simply modified another payment mod and let it use
the same database files as another pre-installed method?
