  • Mega Menu - need a child child category

    I suppose this should be more of a "Dream Feature" because it would require a change to the Navigation Sets functionality but maybe there is a way to achieve it now? I need 4 levels (Am I the only one who needs this?)

    I guess worst-case scenario would be to hard code the whole darn thing

  • Hi Leslie,

    Yeah, you would have to customize something like this.

      • From a usability perspective, this type of 'drill down' might be better handled by using facets?

          It might be but it's complicated. The site doesn't use the typical category pages. Products are ordered directly from a sub-sub-category page. It's a site where I wish child categories could be assigned to multiple parents but que sera, sera.

          • Question - can I write a conditional based on a data-hook? Or would it better to check for sub-categories. I want to change the flex-direction of categories that have child (sub) categories to look different from ones that do not

            Ones with child cats

            UDNhSc.png

            Code:
            .x-omega-navigation__child-wrap {
                display: none;
                height: 100%;
            flex-direction: inherit;
                flex-wrap: wrap;
            }
            Ones without

            Q1L3yZ.png

            Code:
            .x-omega-navigation__child-wrap {
                display: none;
                height: 100%;
            flex-direction: column;
                flex-wrap: wrap;
            }

            • Hi Leslie,

              I would probably use a conditional to add a class which you can use to modify the style.

                I probably would too, but you should know by now how conditionals and I get along. If I get it figured out, I'll post it. For now I'm using

                Code:
                aside[data-hook='1179'], aside[data-hook='1180'] {flex-direction: row;}
                (yes, I know those hook could change if I make changes to the menu)
