So I had to stop banging my head against a wall for a while on this but now I really do need to get it figured out. I have a category page template that lets the customer enter the quantity of each item (product) into a basket. But there is still no way to tie the products together nor is there a way to include a delivery date or gift message. I've had to throw the need for custom shipping aside there isn't any sort of category based shipping. The store owner has suggested we add the ability to select a type of basket to add these product to. That might also be the way to get the gift card message and delivery date. Of course that will probably through a whole new problem in the mix since certain baskets can only hold X number of items (which is why the store owner didn't include this option in the first place, he would choose something suitable for items). Since the category is for building a basket, is it possible to make the basket product required? Remember now, it's not an attribute.
If I could have gotten the product with attribute quantities to work this would all probably be a moot point...

Now I know why this has been driving me so crazy...I HAVE done this before. It was part of the Sebenza Product Manager template. It had the ability to create attributes with quantity boxes.

I think where people are getting confused is that these products are BasketsOriginally posted by AHerb View PostDon't know anything about the "2nd basket" option, but how about you just write 2 separate lists of custom fields into the user and move only the required one into the real basket during checkout?
Or... are you trying to checkout both baskets simultaneously with one payment but 2 different shipto addresses?

and that I need to be able to build a custom Basket that is treated like a single product, that can have it's own Shipping Method
I will activate the category briefly so that it can be seen:
http://www.dutchbaskets.com/category...-a-basket.html
This page was almost perfect until I wasn't able to create a Shipping Method for anything adding from this Category. Since these products are also Ala Cart products, in theory a customer could build a basket from here and also want a few ala cart items.
I've also temporarily turned on the product I started building but ran into a few problems (can't get the checkboxes to work), can't enter quantities (but I need to go check a couple of Bill's modules and something I did for another site) .... I may have a solution and didn't even realize it.

Hey Brennan,Originally posted by Brennan View PostWhat about just building a simple multi-add category page? Are these options separate products with their own inventory or attributes on a product?
That's what I have already tried. I have an Alternate CTGY Multi-Add Page for a Category called Build-A-Basket with all the products that can be added to a basket assigned to it. These products are also available Ala Cart. I have also attempted to create this a a Product with attributes and assigned them as Inventory Kit Builder items. This method has no way to adjust the quantities of the individual items.
If I use the Alternate CTGY Multi-Add Page, how do I insure that the products from this category are grouped as a build-a-basket? How can I have a separate shipping method for this build-a-basket? These custom build-a-baskets need to have their own shipping method AND need to be identified as a custom build-a-basket when built.
As you can see I have tried https://www.miva.com/forums/forum/de...build-a-basket
https://www.miva.com/forums/forum/on...sket-part-deux
LOL - I guess this topic title should have been Part Trois
To recap:- I need a way to identify and group the products added as a Custom Build-A-Basket item.
- I need the Custom Basket item to have it's own shipping method (which is based on the total cost of the all the items added to the Custom Basket.
Thanks!
Leslie

Build-A-Basket - Part Deux
My attempts to build a customized gift basket using an CTGY Alternate Page Template have fallen a bit short since the items being added are not identified as part of a custom basket. Without that ability, it also doesn't have the ability to have it's own shipping method.
So my new set of questions are based around using a product "custom-basket" with attributes that can be selected to include in the "custom-basket". This will cover two of the requirements. Identifying the product as a "custom-basket" and being able to assign a shipping method just for the "custom-basket" product.
The third requirement seems to be the stumbling block - being able to enter quantities for each of the attributes. I'm thinking that I might be able to use something with the Inventory Kit Builder. The Inventory Variants are out of the question:

So is there a way to enter quantities of the attributes on the PROD Page? Perhaps changing the checkbox to a quantity field?
