Traffic is the heart of the Internet business. You have to get bodies in the shop if you're going to sell the goods. In straightforward, simple terms, the more visitors our website receives, the more of your images we'll sell.

This is our Bing feed header from the Emporium Plus Template data Feed:
    MerchantProductID%^%Title%^%Brand%^%MPN%^%UPC%^%SK U%^%ProductURL%^%Price%^%Description%^%ImageURL%^% Shipping%^%MerchantCategory%^%BingCategory%^%Condi tion%^%ShippingWeight

You can see the actual feed file at www.rvparksupplies.com/bingshopping.txt.

Incidentally, I believe that Bing requires that the feed file be named bingshopping.txt

We never open the file with Wordpad to convert it and we run our feed once a week. I believe that my client had Bing support make some setting or something to fix this. As you have found, Bing support really sucks but eventually something was done and Bing now accepts our Template data Feed as generated.
BTW, Bing support initially gave us the same answer that you got about using Wordpad.

Wish I could remember more about how this was solved. I tried the Bing forum this morning and it too is pretty useless.

    Larry,
Would it be possible to post the feed header from your Template data feed module that you use to generate Bing feed?
I have one running from Google shopping and it looks like this...

    Code:
    link%^%title%^%description%^%image_link%^%category%^%price%^%id%^%expiration_date%^%label%^%model_number%^%upc%^%brand%^%condition%^%product_type%^%tax_percent%^%tax_region%^%payment_accepted%^%payment_notes
    thanks!

If you open the file with notepad and save it, that should work for you.

When you set up your Bing shopping account, you define where your feed file is located.

Go to https://adcenter.microsoft.com/ to get started. After creating an account, you can setup your feed by working your way past the Bing ads and getting to the "tools" tab. There click on the "Bing shopping account management". To define your site and the feed location. navigate to "store setting" and then "catalog management" where you define the location of your Bing feed file, etc.

You can get lost while navigating to where you do this, but keep searching and you will be able to get to where you create the feed.

We struggled a bit with this when setting up our first feed ourselves.

    Good luck, Larry

    Larry, thanks for the input!

I am just confused. How would Bing know where to look for the file?

I'm not sure where to submit it - I don't do the programming for that service, but I'll ask the developer and see if I can find out for you.

BTW I fixed the module upgrade download page last night...I guess it was past due! :)

We use the Emporium Plus "Template Data Feed" for Bing shopping as well as for Google shopping. Works great.

Re: Submit listings to Bing Shopping

FeedExact was built on Ultimate Feed Generator with an added component that manages submissions to the different CSEs, handles the category mappings, and provides analytics about your store's performance across the different engines. So it's basically a SaaS extension of Ultimate Feed Generator that does a lot of the additional work for you.

That upgrade page has been broken forever :) I should just put up a message that says to email us! Drop us an email at [email protected] and I'll send an upgraded version of UFG right away.

    Thanks,
    Susan

Is feedexact the same as Ultimate Feed Generator?
I have the UFG, would I be able to submit to Bing? If yes, how?

... also, when I try update my UFG and follow the download link, I get this screen...

The upload will not work any longer, but I'm 99% sure the file format is the same and you can create, grab via FTP and FTP it to them.
