It would be really cool if shop owners could market to customers based on the products they've added to their wishlist. Similar to the idea of Abandoned Basket emails.
Maybe using a Template Based Email, with the ability to set specific criteria... something like:
- Specific Category Sale - Sent to any customer who has a product from "Categroy X" in their Wish List
- 10% Off - Sent to any customer for products that have been in wishlist more than 30 days (or x number of days)
- One Left - Email sent to customer when a product in their wish list is down to last one in stock.
- Product Suggestions - "Based on Product A in your wishlist, we thought you might like..."
- Product Marked Down - "Product A from your wishlist, has just been marked down..."
It should probably require a check to make sure that the customer has not already purchased the product since the time it was added to their wishlist (so that shoppers aren't getting promos for products they might have already purchased at full price.)
It would seem like a really good marketing opportunity since a shopper has already shown interest.
