Recursive deactivation option

It would be nice to have the option to also deactivate all sub-categories and their assigned products when a parent category is deactivated. Also include a notice to warn that "Product Code XYZ is also assigned to Category ABC, do you want to still deactivate it?" A single click method would be so much nicer than the current export/import option. It also would be extremely beneficial for deactivated categories that don't have any products but their sub-categories or sub-sub-categories do.

Interesting idea and doable, but I'd think, even as an 'option' it would have a quite a few unintentional results (seeing has how product can be in multiple categories.) Would be a pretty simple module to write though if you really needed that functionality.

Yeah, a store with thousands of products that have remained active after their parent categories were deactivated. They hadn't been told by the person they took over for to also deactivate (or delete) the products. Now thousands of products later it came to my attention and made me wonder about it.
