This suggestion was sent to me by a client who is having issues with the EmporiumPlus Wait List module:
A little backstory on this - the EP Wait List module went to send out the notice that an item was back in stock, it had over a 140 people waiting for it, when the module starting send the emails, the store owner's host those his email address was spamming and automatically blocked from sending email by it's mailserver. "Email accounts are automatically blocked if they send out more than 75 emails in 30 minutes."
We need a Wait List module would work with Mail Chimp and other popular email hosting software. The minimum feature is the ability to export the list to Excel. In Excel we can easily eliminate dups and we had many of them in the 140 cases (no reason why). We can then import the list into MailChimp as a new list or segment of an existing list. We can make a much better presentation through MailChimp including simply attaching a “now in stock” message to the original sales email graphic that would refresh their minds on what it was they wanted. Plus, if the wait list captures names we can address the email to a name rather than just an address which is more personal and would help avoid spam filters. Also, MailChimp knows how best to handle emails so they don’t get considered as spam by the email hosting companies. We may also want to add all of the names and email addresses to our customer list in MailChimp. We can use the MailChimp reporting to know who opened the emails and we could send a reminder to those who did not. A much better solution for today’s marketing.
