Price Groups are a fantastic way to organize sales, discounts, add-on products, etc. They also can greatly slow down a site's CTGY/PROD pages (under certain conditions) if there are too many old, inactive price groups hanging around. However, a lot of work usually goes into creating these price groups so being able to have an archive so-to-speak, that can be used for deals from year-to-year, would be nice to have without also slowing down one's site.
I think making this happen would be pretty straightforward - add an option/column to mark a price group as inactive/active, and use this column to exclude all inactive price groups in the SQL queries that are involved in all the appropriate discount functions. :thumbs_up:
