Custom order field data in e-mail subject line

    Hi,

If we create a custom order field that is used during the checkout process can we use that data in the subject lines of the automated e-mails in the site?

We use Ultimate Order Status and would like to use that data in the subject lines of the e-mails as the order status changes. Our customers use their own order numbers and they are pretty much begging that we show their order numbers in the subject line instead of ours.

We do already use Purchase Order Plus but it can't be done with that token in the status update e-mails.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Not sure if you can use it with Ultimate Order Status. If their emails are setup as page templates where you can assign items then yes.

However, you should be able to do it using our built in order shipped emails.

Just checked and their emails are not setup as page templates.

We are using ShipWorks to trigger the ship notifications in that module. It is also importing the shipping tracking numbers then sending the ship notification e-mail/status changes to the customer. Having that custom order field in the subject line would make life so much easier for us.

Are we able to import the tracking numbers into the built in Miva emails from ShipWorks? I never checked once we upgraded to 9 so maybe that is an option. If so that would kill 2 birds with 1 stone for us. We rely on Ultimate Order Status right now to send a lot of status change emails to our customers that are all triggered through ShipWorks. We would love to get rid of Ultimate Order Status if we could since Sebenza is no longer around.

      Thanks,
      Mike
