    MM10 and Image Upload type Custom Fields, ugg...

    I did not realize the image upload custom field UX has completely changed. It used to use the legacy image upload browse...popup... thing. Now it has a complete new UI/UX that looks like image management. YAY! Problem: We were using that to upload other file types like PDF files. Lots of clients have PDF manuals etc and using the custom field with an upload button was a quick easy way to give this to them.

    So now PDF won't upload using this new UI/UX.
    Is there a workaround for this UX?

    (obviously the easy solution is to make the custom field a "text" custom field and have the client pull out their FTP app to upload the PDF then try and type in the confusingly long path to the PDF and then... see why I dind't do that) :)

    Anyways, maybe there is something new I'm not seeing yet. Like a "HEY PUT YOUR PDFs HERE IN THE ADMIN area". That would be cool. Show me please! :)

    I verified that this is still the value in the Domain table:
    img_ext = gif,jpg,jpeg,jpe,xbm,png,pdf

    So MM10 changed to not use that.

      Hi Colin -

      This was something we overlooked when we changed the custom field for image upload to use the new image picker. It prevents you from uploading pdfs since the image picker only works with images.

      We're working on adding a new custom field type specifically for pdf uploading. In the short term, manually uploading the pdf via FTP is going to be the best workaround.
