    Image Management in Miva V10.02

I accidentally answered a Miva10 post under Miva9 yesterday. I don't see any way to move it to this forum other than linking it. It's really important because I think there is a bug in the process. https://www.miva.com/forums/forum/on...ges#post709616

All swatches appear to go into your original graphics folder when uploading in the Attributes screen no matter how many files you have in it. There is no way around it. They also don't show up in Image Management. As I mentioned in my original post I've linked above, when you add the coordinating large picture it goes into the secondary graphics directory if your main directory has more photos in it than the original amount Brennan talked about in 2018 in the linked post. When this happens, the inventory count can't be corrected in the Inventory Variants because the swatch can't connect with the full-size photo. I added in the correct order according to the documentation on Miva website. I have since moved all of the coordinating photos to my original graphics directory and am manually entering the graphics/00000001/file name.png so they can be found in the original directory with the swatch. Inventory count seems to work when I do that.

Something sounds off here. You are correct that when you upload images via the attribute image upload, it does not partition them. However that should no impact on your inventory counts.

Can you post the steps you're seeing to re-create this, or send in a ticket to our support team so we can dig into this?

Are the above screenshots for Attributes still valid? I have used this information from the Documentation on the Miva website.

If I don't manually create a product which coordinates with the inventory variants, inventory remains Sold Out for all the swatches on the main product. If I manually create products which coordinate with the inventory variants and select them to be Inactive but included still under the same category as the main product, the inventory count is In Stock (however, the count remains '1' for each swatch even though I only have one item available with multiple sayings). That was the initial issue I was having & that still hasn't gone away.

Here is a screenshot of one of my items which I manually created all of the subproducts which match the variants. It shows I have 1 In Stock. I'm still having the problem of the In Stock not going away when I only have 1 lion in stock.

Here is a screenshot of another item which I let the Generate Variants create all the variants & I didn't create any subproducts which match the variants. Shows I'm Sold Out even though I have 1 monkey available.

is the monkey inventory tab set to a custom inventory out of stock level? that would explain why it is displaying differently from the lion.

Where would I look to find that? When I went from field to field last night, everything was the same except the large picture of the attributes in graphics/00000001/1/ and the swatch in the original graphics directory (which I have since corrected so everything is in the same original graphics directory). Following the instructions above, when the variants are generated it is supposed to automatically create the subproducts but mine certainly didn't do that.

Yes, it looks like you need to set the Inventory Variants Inventory. In MM9 you would click the Inventory Variants tab, then there was a button called Edit Inventory. Can you find something similar in MM10? I haven't attempted to update the store that can generate half a million variants yet, so if you need me to take a peek at your store just let me know.

Sorry for the delay (if the forum will let me post the screenshots)

Your product that has Inventory Variants now needs the inventory updated

Click the Inventory Variants tab, you should see an Edit Inventory button, click it.

              rWgkLc.png

Now you should see the screen to edit your inventory levels

              Hope that helps

I submitted a support ticket because I still need the original problem looked at where if a variant is chosen & I only have one product, the other variants need to change to Sold Out. Support claims my current stock on the Monkey product shows zero but I know I had them all set to 1 when I started this adventure 2 days ago.

Attached are the screenshots I did to show what is going on. I have since updated the 0 with 1 and the monkey product is showing In Stock now. I'm not understanding why one screen indicates a QTY of 1 and the edit screen is showing a QTY of 0. Does the edit screen create the product itself? I had been manually creating the products originally which was quite time consuming and tedious not realizing the edit screen existed. There is still the issue with when 1 variant is placed in the cart, the other variants are still showing as In Stock and should be Sold Out. Miss Kate just an FYI when I visit your site the HTTP page is broken and not redirecting to HTTPS... so the homepage is very messed up if I land on it from HTTP. If I switch to HTTPS it renders correctly.

Miss Kate From the second screenshot it looks like all of your inventory is at 0. The "Quantity" column on the Inventory Variants tab can be somewhat misleading. You need to edit the level for the variants and not for the parent product.

Yeah, I discovered that the other day when I used my husband's computer. Had no idea this was happening until then. I have my Storefront page with the checkbox checked "Always Link to this Page using HTTPS". What else should I do to fix this?

I believe it's in the domain settings with regard to the URIs for Secure and Non-Secure. I'd double check with Support, they have helped me fix that before!

THIS POST IS FOR SUPPORT TO SEE AS EMBEDDED GRAPHICS REMOVE THEMSELVES FROM EMAILS WHEN SENDING TO SUPPORT -- IF ANYONE ELSE CAN FIGURE OUT WHY THIS IS OCCURRING, YOUR OPINION WOULD BE WELCOME.

I have one physical inventory item (lion or monkey in my example). If I have only 1 yet I have multiple variant options to pick from, I can’t just have that 1 marked as Sold Out when someone picks a certain saying on a particular monkey or lion. I need all the other variants to show Sold Out also since I only have 1 physical monkey or lion to sell. I can’t have the rest of the options showing In Stock because technically, I’m Sold Out for the other variants when someone places a physical monkey or lion in their shopping cart. I may have 15 variations to the saying which can be embroidered on a single physical monkey or lion but once a customer selects one of those variants and puts it in the cart to buy, I can’t have the other 14 variations showing still In Stock.

People probably haven’t reported this as an issue in the past because they have more physical base inventory to sell. These plush toys are for a niche market and I don’t want to be sitting on them forever by buying multiple pieces of each toy. That is why when I say I have only 1, I mean I have only 1 physical toy to sell but can have 1 or 15 in some cases more or less sayings to be embroidered on the single physical base item I am selling.

If I were to sell the one base item with one inventory variant saying on it, I’m going to get some very unhappy customers when they try to buy the same base item with another saying. It is going to show that saying is in stock when it shouldn’t be because the base item is no longer in stock.

Numbutu Lion - Base.pngand we have these as inventory variants 15 VAriants for Numbutu.png

variant = 14 variants left & 0 base lion available for sale once in cart.

                            Shopping cart with 1 lion.png

I get an email notice that Numbutu Lion BH is now out of stock because it is in the Cart. At that point in time am I supposed to drop everything I’m doing and rush to my Admin and manually change everything to Sold Out? That’s insane!!

Now the same customer thinks this is a cute item & selects Numbutu Lion and a different variant.

Still showing first item in Cart as I didn’t remove it.

Now here are the contents of the Cart:

(this is rest of post since I can't post more than 5 photos in one post)

                              THIS CAN’T HAPPEN!

In the base inventory it is showing:

I generate the inventory variants based off of the Master Product and its Attributes since the Master Product is set to one (1)

So, right now my Master Product Inventory is acting as if I have a limitless supply of physical inventory.

That is the problem I am trying to get fixed.
