    User guide for Miva 10?

I am finding more issues with my deprecated Levels Readytheme in regards to using with Miva 10. The documentation seems to be limited to a total of 1 Miva 10 User guide. I am looking for the "official Guide" for Miva 10, as well as more how-to's and Videos.

Are these coming in the near future? Or is the Miva 9 documentation close enough to get the job done? I need to install a current theme and start tweaking it. There are precious few docs on how to do this for miva 10.

Also we are working on a new "Official Guide" for Miva 10, but it won't be out until the fall.
      Thanks,

Thank you Rick. Yes I'm looking for the "Official Guide". I have a lot of questions that are not answered by the current documentation. With the rollout of Miva 10, I feel like I've been tossed into the deep end of the pool without being given swimming lessons first. In the links that Matt suggested, Currently There is a total of 1 document pertaining to Miva 10. Complete documentation not available until a year after (enforced) rollout?

        Yikes! Cart before horse?

There's plenty of official documentation and we originally weren't even going to do a version of that book for 10 (don't let the name fool you, it's just a book by Pamela, it's not the only source of docs).

Is there anything you need to know now that you haven't been able to find?
          Thanks,

            HI Rick,
Yes. For instance, our store located at wiseways.com is using the "Levels" Readytheme. When we switched to Miva 10, it broke the Image Slider on our homepage. It was then I discovered via the Forums that the Levels Theme is now deprecated. Who knew? I don't recall any warning that the codebase was so drastically changed. I attempted to fix the slider code using suggestions from the forums but none of the suggestions worked.
I contacted support, and they said to try the Colossus or Shadows Theme, as they have built in Image Sliders. I'm now trying to install both within our development site so I can compare them. The Shadows theme page says that it's pre-installed in Miva 10. It doesn't say though how to activate it. From the forums, it seems that I could use Template Branches to install the other themes for testing, without getting rid of my current Levels theme. But when I go to the Miva 10 documentation, the Template Branches Overview doesn't really tell you under what situations you might employ Template Branches or even what a Template branch is. In fact, this is my biggest beef with the current docs in that there are no workflow tips or "if you want to do this, then do that" info. I am trying to learn your new system, but I'm not finding the info I need. There is no "How to Install a Template" in the Miva 10 reference guide. Nor does it tell you on the Themes download page which Themes are not recommended for Miva 10.

My current list of questions includes:
            1. I've created 2 new branches and named one "Shadows Theme" and the other "Colossus Theme". How do I activate the built in Shadows Theme? I haven't yet attempted to install Colossus yet.
            2. How do I know what Theme is Active? I can switch to a Template Branch, but where does it show the active theme? I See there is a new "Preview Overlay" when I visit the home page of the Dev Store, and it tells me the active Branch, but it doesn't tell me the active Theme.
            3. In trying to fix the Image Slider issue for the Levels Theme until I can get settled in with one of the new themes, I decided to ditch it in favor of the simple Storefront Hero Image. But that presented a new issue in that the Hero Image is missing altogether for the desktop version, but it is working in the mobile version.
            4. In the Production Homepage (wiseways.com) the Slider image is blurrier that the image I uploaded. Why is it blurry? I have the correct dimensions AFAIK.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

              1. To change the theme for a branch, navigation to User Interface -> Frameworks -> Select the one you want and click Apply Framework.
              2. The active framework will show as Active/Yes in the list of frameworks.
              3. I visited the link you provided and the hero image appears to be showing for me on the desktop.
              4. If the image seems blurry, I would try re-uploading and checking your JPEG Image Quality setting under Domain Settings -> Domain Details -> Upload Settings.

Thanks for the quick reply! I will check on those upload settings.

                Theme and Framework are synonymous?

Trying to install Colossus now. There are no directions how to install. This link is supposed to be the install docs, but no install directions here: https://docs.miva.com/readytheme-colossus/index.html

Update: I figured out how to install, but it deletes all page content. I am coming from a background of Wordpress/Joomla, where template changes only change the look of the page, but doesn't get rid of the content. Am I doing something wrong here? All page content is gone. Luckily I'm working on the Dev site.

For Colossus, there should be a PDF included in the ZIP file you downloaded.

                    colossus-readytheme.zip contains customfields.xml and colossus.pkg.

                    No PDF file here.

My mistake, it looks like that ReadyTheme never had installation documentation created for it.

In regards to your previous update:

When you apply a new Framework or ReadyTheme, whatever is contained in the package is overwritten on the site. Generally, this is all of the pages as well as new and existing ReadyTheme Components.
