URI Management code

Attempting to display a product's category code in the URL of the page for the product by changing my store's URI conventions - in URI management in my products section the code looks like: '/prod/&mvt:category:code;/&mvt:product:code;.html'. The category code is not being displayed, instead displaying a blank space ex: website.com/prod//product-code.html - I am looking to display website.com/prod/category-code/product-code.html.

just a guess...do the products have a canonical category assigned? if not, try that and then run the 'create url function'

normally, miva doesn't internally do 'back lookups' since products are assigned to categories and not the other way around. also, a product can exist in multiple categories
