5.1.1 (One or more notification emails could not be sent at this time)

We have been trying to fix this issue for months. I had searched the message boards and found an old thread that we thought held the solution.

We reached out to our mail admin and asked them to adjust the settings.

However the issue has persisted and we have several customers calling or messaging each day concerned about the error, not to mention how many customers likely just ignore it.

When a customer places an order they get a confirmation e-mail, and in the e-mail it has the 5.1.1 error message saying that one or more notification e-mails could not be sent at this time. Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table.

Is the issue with Miva or is it still an issue with the mail admin?

Sounds like you have a return email address that hasn't been configured. Check to see what email address is being used for the store email - make sure it's an email address that has been set up on your server. If it is, then also check to see what return email address is set up in the customer and merchant emails.
