User Interface Tags -- Managing Tags

A client asked. I didn't know. They seem to be new-ish and I haven't worked with them. In the lower-left of the User Interface screen, there is a spot to add and manage TAGS. I haven't found any info on those and don't remember any discussions from the virtual Mivacon or any webinar previous. What are they and what is the intent for usage?

An extended question is how/why to use TAGS with the MMT Tools.

    Thanks,

    Scott

The docs mention them here https://docs.miva.com/template-branc...nches-overview but it's not clear what they are tied to:

Tags can be found at the bottom of the User Interface Navigation Menu with a flyout menu when selected. Here all tags can be viewed and removed as well as added, multiple tags can be added by using a space between words.
Are they part of the Branches or MMT?

Branch tagging is generally used to annotate a point in history that is used for a marked version release (e.g. v2.0.8). I don't mark versioned releases in MIVA specifically, but I do use tags to identify functions/features/hotfixes that are addressed in a specific branch.

Tags can be managed via the admin (the lower-left of the User Interface screen) and utilized via MMT.

The MMT commads "tag list", "tag add", "tag set", and "tag delete" are documented here: https://docs.miva.com/template-branc...erview#mmt_tag

        Thanks for the insight.

So, I am reading this as the TAG is a different form of a Note? Using MMT, would I be able to PULL templates with a specific TAG? Actually, I know that function doesn't exist (in the documentation). My current observation is that the feature is for information and not much beyond that.

Sure, tags could be considered a short, branch-specific version of a template note. As you stated, tags are purely informational.

Unless I completely misunderstand the documentation and have been using MMT and Tags "incorrectly". Always possible.
