Template Changes for Non-Shadows / Custom Sites?

Several recent updates have included template changes for Shadows sites but not for other/custom frameworks. 10.01, 10.01.02, 10.03 all show "Template Changes (Shadows)" but nothing like "Diff of Template Changes" which is available for 10.04

I'm assuming that the template changes from previous updates will all be necessary for non-Shadows sites as well.. can the Shadows template changes be used on non-Shadows sites? It looks like the process has changed a little since the last time I did batches of template changes on my stores.

Hey Psydde, I have asked a very similar question here. I'm already concerned about slight differences in the template code and don't want to blow things up.

I did see the Diff of the template changes for 10.04, but I did NOT see any Diff template changes for 10.01, 10.01.02, 10.03 which do all show "Template Changes (Shadows)". Are there corresponding Diff template changes for those updates? Or should we just use the Shadows template changes?

What are the issues the store would have that would dictate the need to implement the template changes?

ids Scott, I assumed that any new features which were part of those releases (updating/modifying variants in cart, etc, etc.) would require template changes. That's how I thought I remembered adding the necessary code to take advantage of new Miva features in the past. However, maybe I'm just behind the times in how these new features (which are not standalone modules) are rolling out?

delcorsets We don't have diffs for those changes. We're looking at better ways to providing that data moving forward.

Here's the perspective, especially for those of my clients with mostly stock Shadows, "Why do I need to hire you to make the changes to these templates? How do I know there's a problem?" I need to explain, which as of right now, I am needing to get back up to speed.

BTW: mostly stock Shadows for my current clients are generally CSS changes.
