Filtering (facets) by stock availability

A thread from 2019 had the following question from GDesigns for Brennan that I felt best to break out into it's own thread (apologizes to delcorsets):

is filtering (facets) by stock availability at least on the roadmap?

I may have missed the addition if it happened and would love to be pointed to the how-to docs if I did.

It has not yet been added.

This has some of the same complexities as show/hiding variants from facets when out of stock. We'll solve both when we address it.

But it your needs are simpler where you just want an instock/out of stock filter for the master product that can easily be accomplished today using a custom field and adding that field as a facet.

You could create a feed that populates the custom field stock value (or updates it on INVC) then make that custom field a facet.

But if you need variant stock level is gets quite a bit more difficult.

I started a separate ticket because I do not need variant stock level.

Sorry I misunderstood, I thought you said (in 2019) you have that on the roadmap for a future update.
