    CAPTCHA Alternatives?

Like most of us we've been using some form of CAPTCHA for years. We've been using Google's reCAPTCHA v2 for years too.

But some bots are getting better at circumventing CAPTCHA, and wondering if there are better alternatives to Google's reCAPTCHA v2 (e.g.: v3 or Cloud Cloudflare's Turnstile CAPTCHA free tool that is privacy oriented)?

    Example:

    turnstile_gif.gif

There are other issues as well such as user experience (e.g.: Google reCAPTCHA v2 rotating image tiles is very frustrating) and privacy concerns wherein data is being harvested for ad retargeting, etc which Cloudflare's Turnstile CAPTCHA addresses.

    Welcome suggestions and feedback.

I guess no one has used other CAPTCHA's?

Thanks for the cloudflare suggestion. I'll look into it and others.

I wrote a free module a while back to let you use Google's recaptcha v3. Some of the sites I manage have been using it without a problem for a couple of years. But I just checked the thread on these forums where I first gave it out and I see someone mentioned it isn't working for them, so could be I need to update it.

        Here's the github link:
        https://github.com/MWScripts/Miva_GoogleReCaptcha

and here's the thread on these forums with lots of info and notes on how to use it, starting from the post where I initially gave out the link: https://www.miva.com/forums/forum/on...891#post705891
Looking for work as of March 2024! I've been a web developer for going on 20 years, with most of that time spent on Miva sites.

We also have a new Captcha module coming out in the next week or two (as a free download) that initially supports Google reCaptcha v3 but is designed as a layer to plug in other future captcha options like Cloudflare or services like Datadome.
          Thanks,

Any movement on the ability to use Cloudflare's Turnstile?

The Google version has been working well, so I haven't seen much demand for us to add another method

What's behind the desire to use CF over Google?
              Thanks,

Google is evil. I don't like putting all my technology eggs in the same basket.

Conceptually I fully understand where you're coming from, I generally agree. On this one though I would encourage you to use the Google Solution, it's very good and free. If either of those change or if there's enough demand, we'd likely do Cloudflare next.
                  Thanks,
