I was thinking that when you assigned a product to an Availability Group it could not be seen until a person who is assigned to that group logs in. That sort of seems to be the case, you can't see the actual product but it still comes up if you search for it. Now if you click on the search results you get a message that it's not available but that really defeats the purpose of putting it into an Availability Group to hide it. So am I doing something wrong?

You are correct on your assumptions but there is something wrong with search. Search SHOULD NOT find a product in an Avail group if you are not part of that group. (Use this all the time for testing...faster to search for the 'test product' than assign it to someplace and locate it that way.)Bruce Golub

So the joy of figuring out how/why it's being pulled in seems to be my challenge.Leslie Kirk

Are you using a third-party search module? Avail-groups are built into the store at a pretty low level; I'd be very surprised to find that there was an actual bug in the store causing this. I would start by double-checking the products' assignment to the group; maybe something went wrong there. Also, working with variants sometimes results in "leftover" products that no one notices until they show up some place where they're not wanted.

Kent - I remembered that the site has Power Search almost as soon as I had posted. I'm running the rebuild now.Leslie Kirk

Yeah, that happens to me sometimes. Funny how asking the question somehow prompts your brain to come up with the answer :) .Kent Multer
