  • Elements Readytheme rebuilds

Regarding the new Elements Readytheme is saw in another thread that "a lot" of the existing Readythemes are being rebuilt to incorporate the Elements theme.

My questions is whether Storytelling or Luxe are on the list to be rebuilt and when they might be available.

  • Hi Guy,

A number of the original ReadyThemes will be rebuilt using the Elements Framework and are slated to be rolled out over the coming year. At this time, we have not nailed down in which order they will be released.

    • I suggest to add a big caution blurb in regards to browser backward compatibility when using flexbox.
Make sure to check Analytics to see what percentage of site visitors still use older browsers (mostly IE) before making the switch.

      • Hi Sabine,

Yes, we recommend always checking the browser usage through analytics before determining which ReadyTheme to use. The recent ReadyThemes, as well as the Elements Framework, support all current browsers and Internet Explorer 11. If support for older browsers is necessary, there are a number of JavaScript solutions out there which will make them compatible.

        • Matt,
Care to elaborate on the javascript solutions? It's very possible we're going to need them.

          Sabine,
Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely check our usage stats.

          • Hi Guy,

You would need to utilize a polyfill like https://github.com/jonathantneal/flexibility
