Inventory Variants + Limit Shipping / Shipping Methods

I'm not sure if this is the intended function, but I find this super annoying.

If the master product is using any Shipping Rules (Limit Shipping Methods / Permitted Shipping Methods), and you then generate Inventory Variants, the generated variants do not adopt the Shipping Rules from the Master Product.

I always have to try and remember to export the product table to a flat file to then manually copy and paste these two settings for all variants, otherwise, these products are not saleable as the customer will be unable to check out with products in their cart that don't have a Shipping Rule configured.

Is there any way for Miva to change this feature so that variants, by default, adopt the Shipping Rules of their master product?

I agree. This is a pain in the rear-end. You are right that is how it works. Brennan do you guys have a workaround? Or plans in Miva 10 for a button on generate variants to copy settings from the master product?

Currently the only way to do this is via Import/export. However, we are adding features like this in Miva 10 to automatically update the pricing of variants from the master product. I can see this being useful as well. I'll check with our team and see if this is something we can add as well.

I believe a bug was already filed and a fix is hopefully scheduled for Miva 10.
