I'd say the ability to tie it to local shoppers could be useful. Many people will try to game the system by selecting even when they are out of state. While you might catch this, dealing with it is a hassle that's well worth the money the module costs :)

So true on the gaming the system with shipping options.
Are there any working examples / demos available to see the functions of this module?
I don't want to get into having it installed and adjusted to my store only to find out it's not what we need.

Are there any advantages using this module versus just creating a local pickup shipping option with Flat Rate shipping module?
We do not need scheduled time slots but do have a slowly growing need to allow ordering on the site with pickup at our store or possibly even local delivery.
