On October 15, 2010, Miva Merchant and eMediaSales signed an agreement transferring the Copernicus line of Miva Merchant modules to eMediaSales. The Copernicus plug-ins provide advanced features for the Miva Merchant 5 ecommerce software, allowing store owners to extend their online store with capabilities not found in the core software.
James Harrell, now CEO of eMediaSales, originally wrote the Copernicus line of aftermarket modules. In April of 2005 they were sold to Miva Merchant when James joined the team as director of software development. Following James’ departure in 2007, the modules remained with Miva Merchant until last week.
Harrell commented about the transfer, “the Copernicus modules represent high end features not required for every store owner; but those who do need them deserve the expertise and attention we can provide. We believe this is a big win for Miva Merchant store owners who will benefit from our deep understanding of how the modules work, as well as updates and new features. Following our acquisition of Viking Coders in August of this year, this solidifies us as one of the leading developers of off the shelf features for Miva Merchant, and demonstrates our commitment to Miva Merchant store owners.”

Immediately following the acquisition, eMediaSales announced new feature updates to the Shipping SuperMod v5, and the release of the Membership SuperMod for Miva Merchant 5.
