Missing hiddencats.mv
Leslie --
If you can't just FTP a missing file into its proper directory, then there
is definitely something wrong at the server. If your hoster can't fix a
simple thing like that -- in a Miva folder, or anywhere else -- then they
are giving you sub-standard service.
One thing you might try is the module update process. Go to the module's
page in the Modules list; click Files; upload the new hiddencats.mv (you
may or may not need to turn on the Overwrite checkbox; try both ways if
necessary); and click Update.
If all else fails, it should be possible to fix all this manually, although
you might want to hire someone with more expertise to tweak the various
databases. (Of course, if the file permissions are messed up badly enough
by the hoster, that won't work...)
Hope that helps -- Kent

I do have FTP access I have tried to upload the file
it goes through the process of uploading doesn't give
an error or anything but the file is never listed on
the server.
I can't see what the permissions are because it's an
NT server so FTP doesn't let me list the permissions.
I'm thinking it's probably a permissions problem since
I cant upload any files to that directory (or any
directory for that matter).
I got a response from the host ... they basically said
they don't provide support for outside modules. But my
problem isn't with the module it's with the actual
server. The file was there yesterday not there today
and I dont have access to put the file back. So w/o
having access to the server I can't fix it.
I let them know all of that but I'm still waiting for
a response :)

Time to find a new host!
Do you have SSH/Telnet/FTP access? You could check to see if the
/4.13/modules/system directory has correctly set permissions, or perhaps
the file itself. If not, depending on what it was changed to, you might
be able to chmod the file and or directory back to the correct
permissions.

I tried that already. I unchecked the "active" box
submitted and then I get this error.
4.13/admin.mv: Line 4914: MvDO: Runtime Error: Error
opening '/4.13/modules/system/hiddencats.mv': The
system cannot find the file specified.
I've contacted the hosting provider to see if this can
be fixed server side but I haven't heard back from
them yet.

Dear Leslie,
You should be able to go to the Modules List and Un-Check the Active
Box. This is not the list in your store, but the List under the Modules
Area.
Thank you,

I downloaded it from there it won't let me install it
nor am I able to upload the hiddencats.mv file. It
appears like the server doesnt give me permissions to
upload the file.
It seems I already have SB21 - OpenUI Extension
(Hidden Categories) installed (just missing files). I
tried just deleting this module or making it inactive.
But it won't let me it says the module is in use.
Is there a file I can edit to manually disable or
remove this module?

I am getting an error like this everytime I try and modify my categories or
products.
4.13/admin.mv: Line 10874: MvDO: Runtime Error: Error opening
'/4.13/modules/system/hiddencats.mv': The system cannot find the file
specified.
I haven't messed with any of the files on the server so I have no idea why
this file would suddenly be missing. I checked the server and sure enough it
is not there.
Anyone have a copy of this file or any suggestions on how I can fix this
problem?
Leslie
