    who has a great shipping module?

    Hi,

    We need a shipping module that:
    - prints out packing slips/shipping labels
    - Allows the customer to check on the status of the shipment
    - emails shipping tracking numbers
    - It would be nice to have some order states (received, packing, shipped).
    - Integration with UPS would be nice

    Anyone have one or used one?

    Shipping modules don't normally do this. Order status and programs do.
    Here's some standards:

    Order Manager - standalone software that will handle ALL your order
    processing (status, returns, labels, invoices, reports, etc.):

    Ship Works - highly integrates with UPS and performs order processing:

    There are also several modules, but you would need a few to encompass
    what you want.

    Ivo's Packing Slips module, Viking's Order Status module, and so forth.
    But if you want the whole shebang, the above are recommended.

      thank you...I assume you've used both modules? What are the decision points between order manager and ship works.

        I've used Order Manager (not a module, a software program) extensively
        and it's, well, da bomb! It integrates with Miva by downloading all
        orders in one fell swoop, and will even handle mail and phone orders. It
        will also update online inventory in real time.

        I have a few clients using ShipWorks that swear by it. It streamlines
        the entire shipping process and has complete integration with UPS.

        I suggest you read up on both as while they are both solutions, they
        vary in many of their features.

          You could also check out MerchantCompanion.com. A little pricey, but seems
          to be a good product.
