    Failure to record payment data

Anyone ever seen a store fail to record the payment
data under any circumstance? I've got a store that
was on 4.23 with authnet. It was showing no payment
data when looking at an order or "Secured" when running
a batch report. I verified encryption was off, verified
the orders database had the appropriate structure and
field lengths, upgraded the store to 4.24 to rule out
any corrupted Merchant files, turned encryption on and
placed an order, turned it back off and placed an
order, tried with simple validation, deleted all orders
and batches and tried some more, etc. Nothing will make
the store record the payment data in orders.dbf. The
store has possibly two third party modules at most,
neither being used at checkout time.

    Failure to record payment data

David, we've seen this repeatedly with the 4.24 upgrade. Mostly with
stores that were upgraded from uncompiled.

Seems Miva cannot decide whether to put the payment data in the payment
    modules databases, or inside orders.dbf.

For the last few versions, they have gone back and forth on where that
information will be stored...and of course, its not documented in the
    release notes.

What seems to be happening, is when upgrading a store to 4.24 or 4.23,
then copying the orders.dbf over (since the upgrade fails at 91% with
    any data in the orders.dbf).

The scripts don't seem to be writing the payment data as it should in
    the Pay_Data, Pay_Data memo, and Pay_Secdata fields of orders.dbf.
There is also an memo file, orders.dbt for the Pay_data memo field.

None of these exist in the orders.dbf prior to 4.14.

The solution we have used is to copy an empty 4.24 and populate it with
the orders.dbf information from the original db. Then upload it to the
    server.

This will not bring back the data from previous transactions, but it
will allow the orders.dbf to correctly record the needed fields.

Just wanted to follow up; this problem ended up being
a corrupted baskets database even though the pack
      didn't reveal it.

      Thanks for the suggestion though,

      David

Reviews of Merchant HTML WYSIWYG Editor ?

Anyone ever used the "Merchant HTML WYSIWYG Editor"?
Had a customer ask about it but I can't recall ever
        seeing it installed anywhere.

        Thanks,

          question for group

I am trying to get my shopping cart lined up. I really need assistance
on trying to center my entire 600 pixel wide cart in the middle of the
page and use a color on the each side to frame it. I am using miva 4.24
with Open UI 4.955/4.984. Everything is loaded and functioning but it
looks like road kill. Please help.

          Thanks, Tim

            templating options

            Hello,

I have heard that version 5 of Merchant will offer robust templating options
similar to those offered by Viking Coders. Is this the case? Also, I have
asked my host about upgrading to V5 and they are stating that it has not yet
been released to the general public, yet it seems to be fully released on
the miva.com website. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

            many thanks,

Yes, and then some. Every screen in the store can be fully customized with
              your own template.

Your host either doesn't know much about Merchant 5, or doesn't want to
support it yet (some hosts, without using any names, still only support
v4.12 and nothing newer). It most definitely has been released and some
              stores already run on v5.

OpenTokens not working in Category Header/Footer

I'm having the same problem although I have a different set of modules
                I'm trying to deal with.

                OUI: 4.955
                MM: 4.22
                MVM: 4.0702

                Modules Installed;

Thumb Wizard from Santa Fe Mall (not Pro)
                Search Manager (Viking)
                Price Wizard Pro (Santa Fe)
                NetBlazon's Extra Product Fields

I'm trying to customize the Category screens for this client and no
matter what I type into the Category Header nothing appears there
except the Category title. Additions to the Product Footer show up
                just fine.

My goal is to display random items from the category that was clicked
with a link that says "View All". I'd like to be able to do this
using open tokens. I'm able to display random items on the welcome
                screen using this;

                %ACTION(RANDCATPROD|1|01F)%=20
                %prodthumbL%
                Pattern # %VAR(Products.d.code)%=20
                %VAR(Products.d.name)%
                $%VAR(Products.d.price)%

When I try cutting and pasting this to the category screen nothing
shows up. I've even tried %OUI%test%ctgy_hdr% and get no results.

I see that Marc was able to go into "Features Common to All Displays"
in the Thumb Wizard Pro module and make an addition but my Thumb
Wizard doesn't have a field like that.

                Any thoughts? suggestions?

                thanks very much!

                Troy

OpenTokens not working in Category Header/Footer

Sounds like you may be using an old version of the Thumb Wizard. I have
sent you the latest version by separate email.

Let us know if this fixes your problem.

                    Luray

I'm having the same problem although I have a different set of modules
                    I'm trying to deal with.

                    OUI: 4.955
                    MM: 4.22
                    MVM: 4.0702

                    Modules Installed;

Thumb Wizard from Santa Fe Mall (not Pro)
                    Search Manager (Viking)
                    Price Wizard Pro (Santa Fe)
                    NetBlazon's Extra Product Fields

I'm trying to customize the Category screens for this client and no
matter what I type into the Category Header nothing appears there
except the Category title. Additions to the Product Footer show up
                    just fine.

My goal is to display random items from the category that was clicked
with a link that says "View All". I'd like to be able to do this
using open tokens. I'm able to display random items on the welcome
                    screen using this;

                    %ACTION(RANDCATPROD|1|01F)%
                    %prodthumbL%
                    Pattern # %VAR(Products.d.code)%
                    %VAR(Products.d.name)%
                    $%VAR(Products.d.price)%

When I try cutting and pasting this to the category screen nothing
shows up. I've even tried %OUI%test%ctgy_hdr% and get no results.

I see that Marc was able to go into "Features Common to All Displays"
in the Thumb Wizard Pro module and make an addition but my Thumb
Wizard doesn't have a field like that.

                    Any thoughts? suggestions?

                    thanks very much!

                    Troy

                      Remik,

Do you have any examples of live stores already on Merchant5?

                      Thanks,

Yes, and then some. Every screen in the store can be fully customized with
                      your own template.

Your host either doesn't know much about Merchant 5, or doesn't want to
support it yet (some hosts, without using any names, still only support
v4.12 and nothing newer). It most definitely has been released and some
                      stores already run on v5.

                              Anthony,

It depends on what you mean by "similar". In a general sense, yes. mm5 has
                              templates for all pages.
