    error 500 internal server error

I am trying to install the Open UI through the Miva interface and am getting
the subject error when using the install wizard. The wizard allows me to
add the license and goes through the progress page but then I get the error.
Can anyone shed any light on this problem?

Unfortunately that error can be caused by a very wide
variety of things as Apache uses it for any abnormal
termination of a script. In this case though, my guess
would be that your host has a time limit set on cgi
scripts which is below the amount of time that the
Miva engine believes it has to complete a task, such
as the oui wizard downloading your installation files.
So what happens is it starts running, 30 seconds or
so go by and the web server kills it off. Does it seem
like the exact same amount of time passing each time
the error occurs? Other possibilities would be memory
limits the host has set but they should be able to tell
you the cause too if they check it out.

Apache's error log typically only logs premature end of
script headers when a 500 error occurs, that I've seen.
There are other logs though that will normally tell what
the cause was but those are not normally accessible
to user accounts on the web server, just the system admin.

Seldom do 500 errors from Miva log anything except for "premature end of
script headers". To isolate the cause of such an error alot of information
          is needed.

          What modules were installed recently?
          What aftermarket modules are installed?
What is the person doing at the time of the error?
What versions of MM and OpenUI is the user running?
          What is the users URL?
Is their host in the "lousy hosts list"?
