OpenUI & Miva

Hi, I am a pretty seasoned web developer with jsp, javascript, etc.
but I am new to Miva and have some questions about customization and
OpenUI. I want to be able to customize how everything from Miva is
displayed on my website in order to integrate into my site design. Do
I need to have OpenUI to be able to do this or can I just use the Miva
Script variables in my html pages to achieve this? If I do need
OpenUI is it the same kind of use of the tokens within the html pages
or something more complex?

Sorry for the basic types of questions but I have been reading through
all the documentation and cannot really find a place that says exactly
what is required from a coding aspect. If anyone can point me to a
document that does I would greatly appreciate it.

OpenUI & Miva



You cannot mix one with the other, since Miva needs the Miva Empresa
engine.

You can however, use OpenUI to insert HTML into your Miva admin to
assist in the customization process.

You can utilize any stylesheets within Miva as well to achieve your
look.

With OpenUI and perhaps a handful of other third party modules, you can
pretty much do anything you'd like. However, you cannot use any OpenUI
tokens in your static HTML.

Taking another step, you could use OpenDesigner to make changes to just
about every aspect of your store. With your programming background,
this may suit your needs better.
